Speaking of commitment, for the last 14 months, I've been cooking at least three times per week. Some would say cooking is a complete waste of time in our fast paced world and it is quite convenient to take the easy path of paying ridiculous amount of money on a simple meal and laugh with your friends by the clinking the wine or champagne glasses. (I still think that the Italian restaurant, Ristorante Da Valentino near Bukit Timah is overrated, and nearly got myself into a heated argument with an Italian woman because of my opinion, well, I couldn't lie to her; still not very good at making phony small talks.)
Of course, I am guilty in having indulgence at times too. Sometimes cooking at home is not worth the effort, especially in Singapore where you can easily get a decent meal at S$3 if you are not too fussy and could deal with the less than desirable room temperature of the dining area. Not forgetting to mention, the washing of dishes after the meal.

Whether I am a fool or not, I couldn't care less because home cooking is much healthier and it provides solace after a mad day at work. Personally it is a therapeutic moment. It is important to find that moment where you can fully enjoy yourself in serenity.
My commitment to cooking at home has so far worked out quite well, primarily thanks to my husband who is appreciative of my cooking, and it is a bonus that he helps me around in the kitchen. At times, I might have turned into a kitchen nazi, bossing him around. Neverthless it does bring so much joy and satisfaction to cook and try out new dishes with him. And nothing really beats the smile on boo's face when he enjoys the food while we eat together. I reckon as long as I keep cooking, I should be able to write something about the dishes that I've cooked. However, this is not a solely recipe sharing blog. It could very well simply be a blog where I rant about food in general. It is true that Singaporean marvels at conversations about food, and I wouldn't protest otherwise.
